In some small towns, you have to fight for your dreams

Playing guitar is where Tristen truly feels alive. It provides him an escape from his small, stagnant town and controlling stepfather and gives him a promising future. But when his twin brother, Talon, quits their band for a rival group, Tristen is left without a career and drowning in debt.

Determined to find a way back to the music scene, Tristen returns to his hometown. However, his plans quickly change when he discovers his mother on the brink of homelessness. To help her, his estranged father entices him back to the illegal boxing scene. While Talon enjoys the glamorous life of a rockstar, Tristen becomes entangled in their troubled past. He uncovers family secrets that challenge his beliefs about forgiveness and redemption. When his twin betrays him once again, Tristen must choose between family loyalties and the future he always imagined.

Raised in a Kentucky trailer park, Scarlett follows her mother’s destructive path of loser men and poverty, until her sister, Rhoda, offers her a second chance. After accepting a job out of state, Rhoda asks Scarlett to care for her young son in exchange for a place to live. Five years later, Scarlett is still raising her nephew, the one bright spot in her life. Meanwhile, her baking business is failing, the man she wants won’t commit, and her bank account has dried up.

When Rhoda suddenly stops sending money, Scarlett is forced to make a change. She takes a seasonal job at a camp where she meets Tristen, the first man who respects her and doesn’t just use her for one night. Although he has no plans of sticking around, Scarlett can’t help falling for the handsome musician. Afterall, nothing is on the line except her heart.

Things take another turn for the worse when Scarlett can’t pay rent and her nephew’s father sues for full custody. As she fights for her nephew, Scarlett uncovers the truth about her sister and discovers that not only is Rhoda not who she thought, but nothing with her nephew is as it seems. With eviction looming and her nephew’s future at stake, Scarlett must find the courage to break free from her past and save her family—all without losing the first chance at love she’s ever had.
