Fiction From Memory with Lisa Solod

How much personal experience can you use in your novels? Where is the line between novel and memoir?

Today I speak with Lisa Solod who used the memories of her mother suffering from Alzheimer’s to create a beautiful novel called Shivah: A Novel from Memory. We talk about how fiction cn sometime be more impactful than nonfiction and how a writer can find distance in a subject that they’re close to by allowing themselves to write a fictinalized story instead of memoir.
